Burn Backup to CD, DVD and Blu-Ray

Z-DataDVD can but whole directory structures or backup archives, optionally automatically or on schedule, for transport, backup or archiving, to disc mediums. That means fast and automatic backup to:

Blu-Ray (BD-R/BD-RE) – DVD+R/W, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-R/W, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-RAM – CD-R and CD-R/W

The program has an easy-to-use user interface and can also be controlled with command-line parameters. This allows scheduled backups using the Windows-integrated Windows Task Scheduler or our program Z-Cron. Z-DataDVD was originally developed as an add-on module for Z-DBackup, but it can also be used as a stand-alone program for data burning and backup to discs (CD, DVD or BluRay).
 

Backup to DVD

DVD burners are optimal for backups or copies of important data. The price per medium is very small, at around 30 cents per DVD, and the price for the burner is doubly worth it because the hardware cannot only be used for backups, but also for other purposes. There is, however, one drawback: The medium size is rather limited, and e.g. tape mediums offer a lot more storage. Therefore, a different backup strategy is necessary when using DVDs as a main backup medium.

By combining Z-DBackup and Z-DataDVD, many backup strategies can be realised. That makes them an ideal tool for automatic backups, for professional as well as for personal use!

Z-DataDVD is an ideal tool for everyone who wants to burn data quickly and easily to CDs or DVDs. The program can also be used in scripts and other programs because of its command-line parameters.

You can also use it for scheduled burning, as it works perfectly with our Z-Cron Scheduler or the Windows-integrated Task Scheduler.

is an option with the added feature that the computer is automatically shut down after the burning process.

Hardware

Z-DataDVD writes to DVD mediums according to the ASPI guidelines of the SPTI standard (SCSI PASS-THROUGH INTERFACE). Very old burner hardware which does not rely on ASPI is not supported. The program was tested with burners of the following manufacturers:

CyberDrive, NEC, Plextor, Yamaha, Sony, Phillips, TDK, Teac, Que!, Goldstar(LG), HP and Acer.

The program supports all common CD and DVD burners (IDE, SCSI, USB, and Firewire), from the year 1998 or newer.

Freeware Version

The free standard version (Freeware Version) can burn at most 5120 MB (5 GB) per burning session. This should be sufficient for private use because Z-DBackup offers a very strong compression for the data.
